About the WECF
The West End Children's Festival is one of the largest family events in Boston's West End neighborhood, with the unique tradition of offering all games, food, and entertainment completely FREE of charge to visitors. The West End's most exciting summer festival is filled with creative, interactive arts and crafts, athletic programming, hands-on workshops, cultural experiences and more, hosted by a diverse range of businesses and organizations from across the Boston area.
The WECF was founded in August 2006 by 27 children who had the common desire of bringing their community together with a neighborhood "block party". The festival has grown immensely since its inception, celebrating is ten-year anniversary in 2015 and attracting over 1,500 visitors and 75 participating organizations. The community comes out in droves: children, parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, merchants, all enjoying the festivities together, building a memory, sharing a laugh, and celebrating summer with friends and family!
The West End Children’s Festival (WECF) is hosted by the West End Community Center, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The WECC would like to thank all of the generous sponsors, businesses, organizations, and volunteers who have helped continue this fun-filled, summer tradition for Boston families.
